Cloud

Begun as a pencil sketch, this painting sat in limbo for years before I realized it was complete. I was always wanting to add to it but knew all my ideas would just clutter it. Finally I let it go. The hair was done a year after the rest of the work and was painted with a natural German mineral based pigment paint mixture.

Zazen

This took several years to complete and developed without preconception. It is obviously all about form and has no colorplay. It is striking on a white wall.

Reality Approaching Subjectivity

This painting began with color and form (background) worked until it felt intuitively like it was "right" to my eye. The rocket and globe figures were developed on paper, each independent of the other and positioned to blend with the existing background.

Fred and Ginger

I began this painting on paper with the dancing figures in black and white and proceeded to the canvas panel with the intent of creating a background that would complement and enhance the movement quality. The figures' colors were a result of the background and a surprise.

Incognito

This figure was created several years before being used and was added to a background that was experimental and fun. It looked so good that I took it to Kinko's , color photo-copied it and handed it out to friends who accepted it with quizzical looks on their faces.
